We saw a monkey take two phones, snatched right out of someone's hands. Sunglasses and hats taken of people's heads. A flip flop taken off a girl's foot (while she was standing!!) Don't carry a water bottle. Don't look them in the eye. Seriously. They take things, and then chew it up. We watched one monkey eating the seat cushion of a motor bike. The Kecak dance is really cool. Make sure you read the story on the print out that they hand you, while you are waiting for it to begin so that you understand what is happening. Then follow along as the dance plays out. It was quite entertaining. The sunset over the ocean is a beautiful background, although it was annoying that people got up in the middle of the performance to take photos of the sun setting (I assume) or go to the bathroom. Tips: I brought a hand fan which was key for blocking the sun on my face before the sun went down since the audience faces the ocean (and sun). I also brought an extra sarong to sit... The dinner... Never felt so American as we did when they brought us a whole fried fish. Head and tail and all. So we didn't eat much! The ambience is just ok. It's a plastic patio table and chairs with a table cloth... At least at the place we ate. The whole beach is restaurants set up in the same way. It appeared that some spots are nicer than others.
Just book the tour option that doesn't include the dinner because it's not worth it. (Dinner was a tiny welcome drink of some kind of tea or lemonade type drink, then a broth / corn soup, then the seafood BBQ, and a few pieces of sliced fruit for dessert.) If you want to eat "on the beach, under the stars" just pack a picnic basket and do that on your own. More

February 25, 2023 - therosetribe Dewa was our guide, and was simply wonderful. Very, very lovely, helpful, informative and understanding of the dynamics of a family with teenagers on an adventure! We were greeted... read more in our hotel, and from that point felt completely at ease. We left the hotel and headed towards the ATV quad biking. Highly recommend doing this first up in the morning to avoid the heat and the afternoon rain storms. Dewa was lovely in helping us to navigate setting up for the quad bikes. We have 2 teenagers and a 12 year old - of which none of us had quad biked before. Having now experienced it, for other families - would very much recommend being VERY direct with your ATV guide regarding your level of experience and expectations. It was challenging, and our younger teens found it particularly challenging to control the bikes (the course is tough and is definitely an 11/10 for Adrenalin and challenges!). Strongly recommend bringing a spare change of clothes and thongs for the showers as you will get dirty, and do not want to be covered in mud for the rest of the trip. From ATV, heading to al local rice field for a local lunch which was simple and nice. Lunch then followed with a much needed coffee farm tour ( the ‘coffee poo’ farm). We assumed this would be a ‘cheesy’ stop, but it was actually quite cool and the tasting of all the different teas/ coffees was really interesting (we were surprised and the kids loved the lewaks). From there, Dewa then took us to view the volcanos and was great explaining the facts/ history and how to navigate the viewing points. Next was the rice plantation and the ‘swings’. The kids loved the swings ( need to be seen to understood) and outstanding views. Last stop was Ubud - Crystal Palace and all things Ubud. Ubud is Ubud - very, very busy, lots of different tourists, crazy traffic, markets similar to rest of Bali. The Palace was unique and the architecture very impressive. Was nice to see, and nice for the kids to experience. Trendy little cafes/ bars etc. Dewa was not able to be with us on this part due to chaos of parking, however gave us helpful pointers ahead. Highly, highly recommend this tour. Very much covers most things inland Bali, and is a lovely way to experience it as a family. Highly recommend.

When we first met, there was no awkwardness at all, he was friendly, funny and what i love most... read more about him is that he does not make you uncomfortable, giving you the space, example just some small chats but he knows when to give you your peace and not bombard you all the way (does not keep talking if you don’t have questions for him, as sometimes we are tired and we can fall asleep easily as he is an amazing driver as well!)
we enjoyed his company so much that we even wanted to treat him to Bali’s potato head but he kept rejecting us, insisting that he is not hungry when he already drove us for the entire day honestly this is the best tour experience having him around, i will rate him a 1000/10! Highly recommended to get Mr Agung as your guide!

Mr Agung: he is one of the funniest and caring man. He shared so much insight about balinese culture and we had much laughed together. Before we go back to hotel from the trip, he always reminded us of our valuables . Bali swing was not there in our iternary, but as we asked he took us there.
